原文
You will conduct epidemiological research on patients receiving kidney replacement therapy across European countries, investigating its occurrence, patient characteristics, and clinical outcomes. By expanding our database with newly available variables, you will address important knowledge gaps and explore new research questions in the fields of dialysis and kidney transplantation. You will analyze data and publish your findings in scientific papers that will form the basis of your PhD thesis. By identifying differences between countries, your research may contribute to a better understanding of kidney care across Europe and support country-specific healthcare planning and prioritization.
Would you like to know more about the different phases within the PhD trajectory? You can read more about this on this page .
You will conduct epidemiological research on patients with kidney disease across European countries, primarily utilizing data from the European Renal Association (ERA) Registry. This is a large European registry that collects data on patients with kidney failure undergoing dialysis or kidney transplantation from around 35 countries across Europe. In addition to your research, you will contribute to the annual data collection of the ERA Registry, and will assist in the publication of the ERA Registry’s annual report and related scientific articles.
Currently the team consists of several senior/postdoctoral researchers, three PhD students, a data manager and a management assistant who work intensively together and with nephrologists from different European countries. Throughout your PhD project, you will have the opportunity to fosteryour professional growth by participating in various courses, including those in epidemiology and scientific writing.
