Start of employment January 1st, 2027 Application deadline November 11th, 2026
Scope fulltime, fixed term until December 31st, 2029 We pursue research on process intensification by developing innovative model-based design and optimization approaches and integration with experimental research. The interdisciplinary research activities are oftentimes conducted in collaboration with academic and industrial partners, focusing on innovative process concepts for energy-efficient, (bio-)reactive and hybrid processes. Our research activities pursue the goal to develop resource-, energy- and cost efficient processes for a sustainable production in the chemical and biochemical industry. The project aims to identify enzyme kinetic models from limited experimental data by adapting and extending parameter-estimation methods from adsorption modelling. The resulting approach will be systematically validated for complex reaction models with multiple parameters, with particular emphasis on competing substrates.
YOUR TASKS
• Experimental work, e.g. measurements of enzyme kinetics • Modelling of enzyme kinetics
• Scientific writing and preparation of presentations
• Supervision of students theses
YOUR PROFILE
Requirements
• Completed scientific university studies (masters degree above average or equivalent), in particular in the subject Chemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, Process Engineering or comparable
Desired knowledge and personal skills • Strong understanding of complex enzyme kinetics
• Expertise in modelling and numerics
• Passion for scientific research, strong self-motivation, and a results-oriented mindset
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, combined with the ability to work independently and take ownership
OUR OFFER
• Outside your duties the opportunity to further your scientific qualification, e.g. pursuing a PhD • Collaboration in an interdisciplinary, highly motivated and dedicated team • Participation in national as well as international conferences with presentations and interdisciplinary collaborations • Contribution to the further development of research topics
