• Prepare geological and cosmochemical samples and measure international reference materials, terrestrial rocks, meteorites and planetary samples.

• Automate measurement and data-processing workflows.

• Publish the results in peer-reviewed journals, present them at international conferences and complete a doctoral degree in the GAUSS Geoscience programme.

Your profile

• You hold a very good university Master’s degree in geosciences, geochemistry, chemistry, physics or a closely related discipline and meet the requirements for admission to a doctoral programme.

• You have strong experimental skills and a keen interest in isotope geochemistry, analytical method development and quantitative data analysis.

• You are prepared to work responsibly with lasers, vacuum equipment, high-temperature processes and corrosive fluorinating agents under established safety procedures.

• Experience with stable-isotope analysis, mass spectrometry, vacuum technology, gas chromatography, and programming is advantageous.

• You communicate and write confidently in English and enjoy working independently as well as in an interdisciplinary team.

• You bring enthusiasm for robotics and artificial intelligence and are keen to explore their use in laboratory automation and data analysis.
